Cantore Scores Twice as Spirit Top Pride 4-2

Sofia Cantore scored two goals, including a record-breaking early brace, and Trinity Rodman added a goal and two assists to lead the Washington Spirit to a 4-2 victory over the Orlando Pride on Saturday.

Cantore's goals were the fastest in NWSL history, eclipsing the previous record by 13 seconds. Despite a brace from Golden Boot leader Barbra Banda, the Pride fell to their second straight loss.

In other NWSL action, the Utah Royals defeated Angel City FC 1-0 to snap a three-game losing streak, and the Kansas City Current edged North Carolina Courage 2-1. mwafrika.life
